An AI-Powered Reality Check: 5 Key Findings From Our Latest Agentic Survey
Blog post from Sauce Labs
Sauce Labs' latest survey, conducted with Wakefield Research, explored the adoption and perception of agentic AI among 400 software testing executives and engineering leaders, revealing significant insights into the current state and future expectations of AI in software testing. Despite widespread optimism about AI's potential for complete autonomy by 2027, there remains a notable disconnect in understanding AI's capabilities and security implications between different organizational levels. The survey found that while 97% of companies are either using or planning to use agentic AI, concerns about data security and the accountability for AI failures persist, with employees often unfairly blamed for AI shortcomings. The findings suggest a preference for hybrid testing approaches that blend human and AI efforts, emphasizing the need for clear leadership understanding, accountability frameworks, and realistic implementation timelines to harness AI's transformative potential responsibly.
