From zero code to a live website in 7 hours (thanks, Cursor!)
Blog post from Sanity
Embarking on a personal project to create an online portfolio for displaying and potentially selling ceramics, an individual with no prior experience in web development or coding successfully built a live website using tools like Sanity, Next.js, Vercel, GitHub, and AI-powered Cursor. Despite initial challenges, including a lack of understanding of deployment processes, debugging issues, and file structure confusion, the individual leveraged Sanity Studio for content management and integrated it with Next.js for the frontend, aided by Cursor's suggestions and error-fixing capabilities. The project, characterized by persistence through multiple deployment attempts and learning on-the-go, resulted in a professional ceramics portfolio site that is continuously updatable without requiring deep coding knowledge. This experience demonstrated that starting with zero experience is sufficient to achieve tangible results, emphasizing the importance of taking the first step and the supportive role of advanced tools in enabling beginners to create functional, production-ready websites.
