Reflections on my work trial

After leaving a job in January to explore AI-focused side projects, the author joined SageOx following an unconventional four-day work trial that replaced traditional interviews with embedded, hands-on collaboration. The author argues that effective AI agents require carefully managed context, as insufficient guidance can cause models to drift while excessive context can reduce performance, and found SageOx was addressing this challenge at the team level. During the trial, the author integrated SageOx organizational knowledge with Block’s Buzz human-agent collaboration tool, deploying an agent that could answer questions about team activity by drawing on coding sessions, tools, meetings, and other shared work. SageOx is presented as a platform that keeps humans and AI agents aligned through task updates, decisions, and timely contextual information, with features such as its dashboard and murmur coding-context capture accelerating onboarding and collaboration. Impressed by the team, product, and its approach to the growing complexity of human-agent workflows, the author decided to join SageOx full-time and notes that the company is hiring.
