RWX July 2025 Recap: ARM runners, VS Code Extension, and more

RWX, formerly known as Mint, announced several July updates focused on CI/CD performance, usability, and automation, while continuing to remove remaining references to its previous name. Major additions include ARM support that can accelerate ARM container-image builds by roughly tenfold, a VS Code extension with pipeline autocompletion and inline documentation, and manual run initiation for teams that prefer opt-in CI. The platform also introduced a vault-secret API for credential rotation, WebAssembly-powered file-tree views for task outputs, on-demand batch log downloads, a GitHub pull-request package, and single execution for tasks sharing a cache key within a run. RWX highlighted its automatic caching and sandboxing approach, in-progress retries for failed jobs, explicit multi-operating-system support, and lightweight Ubuntu base images, while emphasizing precise runtime version pinning following issues such as a Node 22.7 encoding bug. It also previewed a proposed container-image build method planned for beta release, aimed at substantially faster image builds.
