What is telemetry?
Blog post from Rollbar
Telemetry in error monitoring consists of chronological events, often called breadcrumbs, captured by an SDK shortly before an error occurs and attached to the error report to provide context beyond a stack trace. For example, it can reveal that a network request returned a 500 error, triggered a console warning, and was followed by a user interaction before a null-reference exception occurred. Rollbar supports telemetry in its JavaScript, iOS, and .NET SDKs, presenting the data as a timeline ending with the reported occurrence. Its browser SDK automatically records network requests, console activity, DOM clicks and inputs, route changes, and connectivity changes, retaining the latest 100 events by default in a FIFO queue. Capture settings can be adjusted through auto-instrumentation and event-limit options, while privacy controls prevent password values from being collected and allow configured fields, all inputs, or individual elements to be scrubbed.
