Summary

Deployment tracking records each code release in an error monitoring platform, typically using a Git SHA, so new or recurring errors can be linked to the deployment most likely to have introduced them. Rollbar requires CI/CD systems to call its deploy endpoint with an environment and revision, optionally reporting statuses such as started, succeeded, failed, or timed out; uncompleted deployments are automatically marked timed out after a configurable period. The platform identifies suspect deployments based on the most recent release before an error first appears or reappears, displays deployment context alongside live error items, and can automatically resolve active issues at deployment so regressions become easier to identify. Recording deployments also supports measurement of DORA metrics such as deployment frequency and failed deployment recovery time.
