What is an unhandled exception?
Blog post from Rollbar
An unhandled exception reaches the top of an application's call stack without being caught, with outcomes varying by runtime, such as a terminated Node.js process, an abandoned browser task, or an HTTP 500 response. JavaScript also has unhandled promise rejections, which occur when rejected promises lack a `.catch()` handler or an awaited call within a `try` block; these are separate from uncaught errors and are not captured by `window.onerror`. Rollbar’s browser SDK can capture both conditions through its `captureUncaught` and `captureUnhandledRejections` settings, recording exception details and stack traces, grouping related occurrences, and assigning default severity levels such as error for exceptions and info for messages.
