Rime Labs has introduced several impactful updates to its Arcana text-to-speech (TTS) model, enhancing its usability and paving the way for future improvements. The removal of character limits allows for unlimited text generation, enabling longer speech passages and streaming applications. Arcana now supports additional audio formats like WAV, PCM, and MULAW, complementing the initially available MP3 format, thus offering developers more flexibility in integrating TTS capabilities. Developers can also adjust the sampling rates of the generated audio to optimize quality for specific use cases. Enhanced text normalization ensures accurate conversion of numerical values, abbreviations, and other elements into natural-sounding speech. Looking ahead, Rime plans to incorporate features from Mist v2, such as the spell() function, which will enhance clarity in contexts like customer service and education. These updates demonstrate Rime Labs' dedication to advancing TTS technology, providing developers with tools to create more engaging and human-like voice interactions.
