Retool and MongoDB partner to make it easier to build securely on Atlas
Blog post from Retool
Retool and MongoDB have formalized a partnership that expands their long-standing integration and introduces a more secure connection process for MongoDB Atlas. Retool customers already run millions of MongoDB queries weekly across thousands of internal applications supporting finance, sales, and operations workflows, and the companies emphasize the growing need to safely build AI-assisted applications on critical business data. For Retool Cloud users, the new authorization flow lets teams connect an Atlas account, select a cluster and database, and assign read-only or read-write access, after which Retool automatically creates a tightly scoped database user. Because passwords are not exposed to users, the approach is intended to reduce credential leakage and reuse while improving auditing, visibility, and least-privilege access. Automated Atlas credentials are available immediately to all Retool Cloud customers.
