Announcing Restate BYOC
Blog post from Restate
Restate has launched its Bring-Your-Own-Cloud (BYOC) service, offering a fully managed version of Restate Cloud that can be deployed within a user's own cloud account and Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), ensuring privacy and security while significantly reducing costs compared to traditional durable execution solutions. This service is initially available on AWS and GCP, with Azure support forthcoming, and is designed to address challenges such as handling sensitive data and managing high execution volumes cost-effectively. By providing a private, single-tenant environment where users maintain full ownership of their compute, storage, and data, Restate BYOC allows for the efficient execution of asynchronous processes like AI agents and microservice orchestration without data crossing the public internet. The pricing model is based on reserved processing capacity, offering substantial cost savings, particularly at scale, compared to other platforms. Restate aims to make durable execution as ubiquitous and approachable as databases, enhancing its utility for applications in regulated industries and high-growth AI startups that prioritize data privacy and compliance.
