Summary

Resend has introduced Inboxes, an API-first email platform designed for AI agents and human teams to manage sending, receiving, organizing, and responding to email on custom domains. Inboxes organize messages into shared threads that can be assigned, annotated, and handled collaboratively, supporting uses such as agent task management, customer support, recruiting, on-call alerts, and application notifications. The platform includes folders, Gmail-like search, labels, drafts, forwarding, reply-all, CC/BCC support, idempotency keys, and webhooks for inbox events, while integrations through APIs, CLI tools, MCP, and skills allow agents such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Grok, and Gemini to work with email. Built-in configurable agents can triage messages and perform permitted actions including drafting replies, labeling, assigning, forwarding, archiving, deleting, and marking spam, with teams able to control instructions, tone, and permissions. Resend offers up to three inboxes for free, with additional inboxes available on paid plans for $1 per inbox.
