Redpanda Terraform provider: manage Connect pipelines, PrivateLink, and more
Blog post from Redpanda
The Redpanda Terraform provider facilitates the management of clusters and Apache Kafka resources in Redpanda Cloud, allowing for streamlined provisioning, configuration, and automation of cluster infrastructure through a declarative control plane. Since its general availability in May 2025, the provider has expanded its features, supporting a wide array of functionalities including the management of Redpanda-specific resources like roles and pipelines, and offering a standardized method for provisioning Redpanda Cloud clusters using a single Terraform configuration file. It supports Bring Your Own VPC (BYOVPC) for secure deployments on GCP and AWS, allowing for fine-grained permissions and secure resource management within existing VPC environments. Additionally, the provider enables the management of Redpanda Connect pipelines as code, bridging the gap between cluster and data management by integrating hundreds of pre-built connectors into the Terraform workflow. Redpanda Serverless clusters can now be configured with AWS PrivateLink, ensuring secure communication without traversing the public internet, and the provider also supports write-only arguments for sensitive credentials to enhance security. Overall, the Redpanda Terraform provider has developed into a robust infrastructure-as-code tool for managing the entire lifecycle of Redpanda Cloud environments, offering users significant control over their streaming stack management.
