Summary

Our company has been expanding its presence on IBM SoftLayer Cloud and Google Compute Engine while continuing to develop its core service. Two new features have now become publicly available: Email Alerts and SSL support, both of which were developed in response to customer demand. The new Email Alerts feature allows users to receive notifications about their Redis resource usage and performance, while the SSL support ensures secure communication between application servers and Redis resources. This new feature is not native to Redis or Memcached but is necessary due to the use of public clouds, where security is a top concern. The implementation of SSL requires the use of a secure proxy, such as stunnel, which adds extra cost to some plans, but we are working on adding support for popular Redis clients in the future.
