Blog post from Redis
Redis 8.2 has been released as a general availability update for Redis Open Source, enhancing performance, memory efficiency, and developer functionality. This new version introduces over 14 improvements, such as up to 35% faster command execution, a 49% increase in throughput, and a new key and JSON storage implementation that reduces memory usage by up to 67%. These enhancements include optimized commands, such as a 35% reduction in latency for the BITCOUNT command and up to 37% memory savings for short string keys. Redis 8.2 also introduces new commands and operators, like those for managing streams with multiple consumer groups and more complex set operations with the BITOP command. Fully compatible with existing client libraries, Redis 8.2 is accessible through various distribution channels and will soon be available on Redis Cloud and Redis Software.
