The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly accelerated digital transformation in various industries, with organizations now expecting real-time data to deliver the best user experience. A recent survey of 550 AWS re:Invent respondents revealed that cloud strategies are the most mature, followed by microservices and containers, while NoSQL databases lag behind. The adoption of these technologies is a key indicator of an organization's progress in its digital transformation journey. Limited downtime can have significant consequences, with 52% of respondents stating they cannot afford any downtime, while 78% plan to use caching to improve application performance and scalability. Relational databases remain dominant, but NoSQL databases are gaining popularity, particularly among key-value database users.
