Where Docs-as-Code Goes Next
Blog post from ReadMe
Docs-as-code applies software development tools and workflows to technical documentation, including local authoring, Git version control, automated testing, pull requests, and coordinated deployments with product features. While documentation platforms historically separated content from Git to avoid difficult publishing processes, improved developer tooling and the separation of content from presentation have made Git-based documentation more accessible. ReadMe has rebuilt its platform around Git to support bi-directional synchronization between local development environments and its visual WYSIWYG editor, allowing technical and nontechnical contributors to work in their preferred interface. Git serves as the source of truth, enabling branching, reviews, collaboration, automation, and documentation releases that remain synchronized with code.
