The New Raycast

Raycast has launched a completely rebuilt version of its application, designed to integrate seamlessly with macOS Tahoe and enhance user experience with a fresh look and feel. This new version, now in public beta, features a custom-built indexer for faster and more consistent search results, alongside new functionalities like integrated dictation and improved hotkey support. The app also introduces a revamped AI experience, allowing for smoother transitions between quick questions and extended conversations, with context retention from previous interactions. Additionally, the redesign includes numerous quality-of-life improvements such as tag support for snippets and commands, enhanced clipboard history, customizable translator commands, and improved window management. While some features like Cloud Sync and Raycast Focus are not yet available, they are planned to be added during the beta phase. The development involved a foundational rebuild to ensure enhanced performance and future scalability, with feedback being highly valued during this beta period.
