Security Disclosure Recommendation: Resolving Login Issues
Blog post from Railway
Following Railway’s October 21, 2026 security incident, which revoked all login sessions and stored credentials, users must sign in again using the exact email, Gmail, or GitHub identity originally associated with their account to avoid creating a new empty account. The guidance recommends troubleshooting failed access by checking login emails and spam folders, renewing expired email links, reauthorizing Railway through GitHub, clearing browser cookies, completing two-factor authentication, and resetting CLI login sessions. Users who cannot access their original email or whose projects remain missing can request account recovery from support, but must retain access to the connected GitHub account and create a public repository named Railway-2FA-Reset as ownership proof. Support requests should include account details, the ownership-proof repository URL, login symptoms, relevant workspace and project information, and any requested new email address, while excluding passwords, codes, tokens, and other secrets. After access is restored, users should recreate revoked credentials and redeploy services affected by the incident.
