An ECS-to-EKS migration can preserve existing CI workflows when pipelines remain focused on building, testing, tagging, and pushing immutable container images to Amazon ECR, with only the deployment command changing to Helm, GitOps, or an internal developer platform call. It maps ECS constructs such as task definitions, services, IAM roles, autoscaling, logging, secrets, and service discovery to Kubernetes equivalents, while emphasizing that operational responsibilities—including cluster upgrades, add-ons, networking, observability, RBAC, and capacity planning—represent the main migration effort.
