Summary

Claude Code’s GitHub Action can let users invoke an AI agent with @claude in issues, pull-request comments, reviews, or new issue text, allowing it to implement changes, run permitted tests, and push commits to a new branch or an existing PR branch. The workflow described pairs this capability with Qovery preview environments, which automatically clone a configured blueprint environment on a Kubernetes cluster for each PR targeting the selected base branch, deploy the changes, post service URLs to the PR, redeploy on subsequent pushes, and delete the environment after merge or closure. Setup requires a connected Kubernetes cluster, a functioning Qovery environment cloned into a stopped blueprint, GitHub repository administration access, and Anthropic credentials; the blueprint should track the same branch used by Claude and should use synthetic seeded data rather than production data. Claude does not create pull requests by default, preserving human control and branch-protection practices, but after a human opens the prefilled PR, Qovery handles deployment through GitHub webhooks without separate deploy or cleanup workflows. The guide also recommends restricting Claude’s shell permissions, avoiding use of the default GitHub token so normal CI can trigger on its commits, monitoring Qovery Free’s 1,000 monthly deployment-minute limit, and using on-demand previews or limiting deployed services to reduce consumption.
