AI infrastructure on tap with the Pulumi AICR provider
Blog post from Pulumi
Pulumi announced its NVIDIA AI Cluster Runtime (AICR) provider after discussions at CoreWeave’s Fully Connected 2026 conference highlighted growing interest in open-weight models and self-hosted inference as organizations seek greater cost control, performance, and domain specialization. The provider is designed to address challenges in production GPU infrastructure, including inconsistent model behavior across hardware, variable throughput, complex cloud pricing, and limited GPU capacity, while supporting multicloud strategies that combine major cloud platforms with specialized GPU providers. Built around NVIDIA’s validated AICR infrastructure recipes, Pulumi enables developers to deploy workload-specific training and inference clusters through infrastructure-as-code, with recipes tested across a wide range of cloud environments, GPUs, operating systems, and AI software stacks. It also provides lifecycle management features such as previews, updates, drift detection, and deletion, aiming to reduce setup complexity and accelerate deployment of reliable AI endpoints.
