Designers at PubNub aimed to enhance collaboration with software engineers by involving them in the design process through a workshop that introduced methods like sketching and the "How Might We" ideation technique. This in-person event aimed to break down communication barriers and foster a shared understanding of design challenges, resulting in a more cohesive team approach to developing user interfaces and experiences. The exercise not only improved team engagement and awareness of design workflows but also generated numerous ideas for addressing design problems, which are now being refined and tested. Despite some challenges with documentation and the absence of digital tools, the workshop effectively demonstrated the value of cross-functional collaboration and ideation in improving product development processes.
