Auditing and hardening AWS European Sovereign Cloud with Prowler in just a minute
Blog post from Prowler
AWS has launched the European Sovereign Cloud, a new partition designed to comply with European digital sovereignty requirements, featuring complete isolation for IAM, billing, and metadata. This partition, known as aws-eusc, initially includes the region eusc-de-east-1 in Brandenburg, Germany, with endpoints separate from the classic AWS domains. Prowler, a security auditing tool, supports this new cloud partition out-of-the-box, enabling users to audit their infrastructure by simply running a specific command while ensuring compliance with EU data residency and regulatory requirements. The AWS European Sovereign Cloud is particularly beneficial for organizations in regulated sectors such as government, healthcare, and financial services, allowing them to maintain compliance frameworks like NIS2, CIS, and GDPR.
