Adding Customizable Roles and Permissions to PropelAuth
Blog post from PropelAuth
PropelAuth has expanded its role-based access control capabilities with customizable role names and permission management, allowing products to align authorization terminology with their own users and workflows. Developers can use roles across frontend and backend applications to restrict API access, conditionally display interface elements, and control actions such as organization invitations through built-in middleware. The new permissions feature enables access decisions based on specific capabilities, such as editing a menu or inviting employees, rather than relying only on job titles or roles. Roles and permissions can be configured through PropelAuth’s dashboard, while customer-facing management interfaces allow organizations to administer their own accounts without requiring developers to build authorization infrastructure from scratch.
