Prismic Image Optimization with imgix
Blog post from Prismic
Prismic, a technology-agnostic headless CMS, has partnered with imgix to enhance image optimization, offering users improved next-gen image support and a more intuitive interface for cropping and editing. This integration allows both developers and content creators to benefit from streamlined processes, such as the ability to independently create and edit pages using the component-based Slices feature, thereby granting more autonomy and freeing up developers to focus on core product development. By replacing ImageMagick with imgix, images are now optimized on-the-fly, resulting in faster loading times, reduced CDN consumption, and improved SEO performance, which ultimately enhances the end-user experience. The feature is designed to work out of the box, supporting formats like WebP, and aims to improve not only the aesthetic and functional aspects of web content but also the broader performance and SEO metrics of users' websites. Initially in beta, this feature is now available by default in all Prismic repositories and has been shown to significantly reduce website loading times, thereby boosting user engagement and satisfaction.
