How building with Prismic is changing, for you and your agents
Blog post from Prismic
Prismic is transitioning from its Slice Machine to a new development approach using the Prismic CLI and an AI agent, alongside a new Type Builder for visual content modeling in the cloud. This shift aims to align with modern development practices, where AI agents are widely adopted, and to minimize friction by eliminating the need for manual updates and installations. Users can migrate their existing content, pages, and models effortlessly, retaining their local, code-first workflow while gaining the capability to collaborate with AI agents for faster and more reliable site building. Although Slice Machine will no longer be maintained, it will still exist, and the new setup is designed to integrate seamlessly with existing projects without affecting live sites. The new system, with its automated updates and enhanced features, ensures a streamlined workflow and allows users to maintain control over design and review processes, with AI being an optional component. The transition process is quick and mostly automated, with comprehensive documentation and support available to guide users through the change.
