An Insider Perspective: How We Built the Prismic Blog
Blog post from Prismic
On August 31, 2023, Prismic unveiled a redesigned blog aimed at enhancing user experience, fostering reader interaction, and improving website traffic. The initiative, led by a team including Grace Miller and designed by Hervé, a branding agency, focused on creating content relevant to developers using frameworks like Next.js. Key strategies involved segmenting content into categories like Optimization, Business, Foundations, and Prismic Updates, and addressing the need for more engaging and visually appealing blog home and post pages. Changes included redesigning the homepage to highlight topical authority, introducing interactive features like quizzes and search functions, and improving the visual consistency of thumbnails. The redesign also emphasized cultivating reader relationships to boost SEO and brand recall. Technical implementations involved integrating the blog with the main website using Next.js, hosting on Vercel, and employing Tailwind CSS for styling. For dynamic data and search functionalities, Supabase and Algolia were used, respectively. The migration of over 150 existing posts from an old Nuxt.js blog to the new design was facilitated by a customized script to update content structures. The blog aims to serve as a resource for developers and maintains a focus on aligning with Prismic's brand and user-centric philosophy.
