Summary

Built-in API connectors are common across embedded iPaaS platforms such as Workato, n8n, Paragon, Cyclr, and Prismatic, making connector-library size a limited differentiator despite its prominence in vendor marketing. These connectors simplify authentication, API requests, pagination, triggers, and common integration tasks, enabling faster prototypes and lower-code workflows, but they do not by themselves address the operational demands of productized, multi-tenant integrations. For B2B SaaS companies supporting many customers, sustainable integration programs require tools for customizing or replacing connectors, handling customer-specific mappings and legacy systems, deploying a single integration across many tenants, monitoring failures, and managing versions and updates safely. The central evaluation criterion is therefore not simply whether a platform supports a requested application, but whether its connector ecosystem combines broad coverage with extensibility, lifecycle management, observability, scalable deployment, and configuration capabilities that reduce long-term engineering maintenance.
