Highlights from the How to Build a Custom Connector Webinar

Prismatic's custom component SDK is a tool designed to facilitate the creation of custom connectors, complementing their extensive library of existing connectors to various applications and APIs. The SDK, utilized both internally and by customers, allows users to build connectors for bespoke applications like unique ERPs or APIs not covered by the standard offerings. During a webinar hosted by Taylor Reece, a Customer Advocate at Prismatic, participants learned how to use the SDK to create a connector for Todoist, a task management tool, which involved setting up OAuth authentication and developing actions such as "Hello World" and "List Projects." This process involves using both command-line tools and Prismatic's low-code integration designer for ease of use, while testing is streamlined through tools like Jest within an IDE. The webinar also addressed how custom triggers and data sources can be integrated to enhance user experience and meet specific application requirements, such as handling unique response formats expected by services like Salesforce and Slack.
