Summary

DMARC is a new standard that ties together SPF and DKIM policies to create domain-wide email security policies, allowing email providers to accept or reject emails based on these results. Postmark has created a free service, dmarc.postmarkapp.com, to help users monitor and implement DMARC for their domains, which can be complicated and risky to set up without proper knowledge of all email sources. The service collects and parses reports from ISPs, providing weekly email digests of alignment and statistics, allowing users to monitor their DMARC alignment across sending sources and eventually set quarantine and reject policies. Postmark built the service using its own tools, including Inbound processing and Outbound API with open tracking tools, and is working on an option to allow custom Return-Path domains to fully support DMARC. The service can be used by customers to collect data and get a handle on their sending sources while waiting for this feature to become available.
