The Real MVP of GitHub Universe 2026: Context
Blog post from Postman
A GitHub Universe 2026 presentation demonstrated an agentic software development workflow using Postman’s Context Graph and API simulations to help coding agents identify dependencies, test changes safely, and share work across separate sessions. In a healthcare application example, Agent A used the Context Graph to locate services supplying patient, billing, and claims data, created mocked dependency simulations, built a claims API, and published its tests and environment to a shared Postman workspace. Agent B, with no memory of the earlier session, retrieved those assets, verified the existing 10 assertions, added a payer-based claims endpoint, and expanded the suite to 14 passing assertions. The approach positions the Context Graph as a catalog that directs agents toward relevant APIs and relationships, while simulations let developers reproduce unavailable dependencies, failures, delays, and rate limits locally. The Postman plugin supports these activities across development, testing, documentation, CI, and monitoring, and can be installed for tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude Code to enable teams or agents to discover dependencies, simulate them, test changes, and preserve context through a shared workspace.
