Orbit Finds the API. Context Graph Keeps It Safe.
Blog post from Postman
Adding an external API integration requires both public knowledge of suitable third-party APIs and private knowledge of the internal systems that the change may affect. Orbit by Postman addresses public API discovery by searching available APIs and producing implementation briefs with endpoints, parameters, authentication requirements, response formats, sequencing, and limitations, while the authenticated Postman Context Graph maps internal services, schemas, events, owners, deployments, telemetry, and runtime dependencies. Using the Postman Claude Code plugin, an agent can combine these tools with local repository code to assess an integration’s blast radius, select and implement an appropriate provider such as a calendar API, update API specifications and collections, validate contracts, and add tests to CI. The workflow emphasizes that the graph informs investigation rather than replacing source-code verification, and that agents should distinguish local changes they can make from cross-team work requiring handoff. Because the Context Graph indexes existing system state and refreshes nightly, teams can use it before merging to identify known dependencies, then use subsequent indexing to record the newly deployed relationships.
