Our new objective: Nail Self Serve
Blog post from PostHog
PostHog, co-founded by James Hawkins and Tim Glaser, has shifted its strategic focus from "Nail Enterprise" to "Nail Self Serve" to better cater to engineers across organizations, aiming to facilitate self-service subscription growth without extensive sales interactions. Initially launched through Y Combinator, PostHog's open-source project reached product-market fit, improving in usability and scalability, which led to increased inbound growth and customer retention. This strategic pivot has resulted in a significant 20% month-over-month revenue growth from their paid products, attributed to larger deals, simplified payment processes, and unexpected existing customer growth. The company is now concentrating on enhancing core features such as insights and feature-flags, optimizing self-hosted deployments, and accelerating word-of-mouth marketing. While successfully targeting large mid-market B2B clients, PostHog envisions a stronger future focus on B2C, anticipating that improved mobile support and scalability will enable them to capture greater value and revenue from larger enterprise customers without lengthy purchasing processes.
