Vitess 9 is now generally available, focusing on stability after the successful release of Version 8. The release prioritizes compatibility with MySQL and common frameworks, with several query serving module refactoring to enhance compatibility. Enhanced logging and metrics have been added to VReplication for debugging stalled workflows and increased visibility into operational issues. Streamlined online schema changes include a new syntax for migration execution, improved auditing, and safe lazy managed DROP statements. Two new user guides have been created for new adopters of Vitess, while some incompatible changes are noted in the release notes. The release is available for download and testing in production environments.
