Plaid’s August 2026 product updates expand support, automation, verification, underwriting, fraud prevention, and investment-data capabilities. Fidelity is now available as a supported institution across Link, the Institutions API, and the Dashboard, while an early-access MCP integration lets data partners use AI agents such as Claude, Cursor, and Codex to troubleshoot Plaid integrations. Identity Match now offers one-click activation of recommended rules and customizable thresholds, and Consumer Report failure webhooks provide more detailed error and recoverability information. Identity Verification improvements include cross-template dashboard searches and phone-call OTP verification as an alternative to SMS, while Onboarding Layer can now initialize items for Signal Transaction Scores without code changes. Plaid also improved Securities data enrichment to better account for corporate actions, with more than 95% of returned investment holdings including key security details and identifiers.
