SafeStream: UGC Video Moderation as One Row, Two Signals

SafeStream is presented as a Pixeltable-based user-generated video moderation workflow that treats each upload as a single record, extracts audio for Whisper transcription, uses Gemini or interchangeable local functions to assess spoken and visual policy-relevant content, and combines those signals into an ok, review, or high risk level through a transparent parent UDF. The system also samples video frames at one frame per second and generates labels as an auditable evidence trail rather than using them as a cross-table aggregate for the primary risk decision. It exposes upload ingestion and a review-queue API through FastAPI, aims to replace separate object storage, speech, vision, and score-reconciliation processes with a declared data graph, and can be deployed to Pixeltable Cloud using the same application file. The proposal explicitly states that it is not a complete hosted trust-and-safety suite, a proprietary NSFW classifier, or legal advice, and emphasizes that policy prompts, stored evidence, and human review remain necessary.
