MedDossier: Clinical Intake on One Audio + PDF + Image Row
Blog post from Pixeltable
MedDossier is a proposed clinical-intake application built with Pixeltable that stores a case’s dictated audio, laboratory PDF, and scan image together in one heterogeneous table row, then derives a transcript through Whisper, document and image descriptions through Gemini, and a non-diagnostic triage label by comparing those outputs. The design aims to replace separate storage buckets and pipeline workers with a single insert-driven workflow, while preserving derived data relationships and enabling deletion at the case level. It also uses MiniLM and CLIP embedding indexes to search similar clinical notes and scan images, and exposes case insertion and scan-similarity queries through a FastAPI router. The example stresses that image descriptions and triage are intake-support features rather than radiology interpretation or diagnosis, and it explicitly does not claim to provide medical advice, HIPAA compliance, or EHR functionality; organizational obligations such as BAAs, retention, and record management remain external.
