Pinecone has partnered with Confluent to announce the general availability of a cloud-native, serverless Apache Flink service, integrated within Confluent's data streaming platform alongside Apache Kafka, and available on AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud. This integration aims to simplify the development of real-time Generative AI (GenAI) applications by providing a seamless solution for accessing and processing data streams, enabling retrieval augmented generation (RAG) pipelines that deliver real-time data from diverse sources. Flink, a unified stream and batch processing framework, is recognized for its strong contributor community and powers platforms at companies such as Uber and Netflix. By unifying Kafka and Flink, Confluent provides a platform that facilitates high-performance stream processing while managing infrastructure complexities, allowing teams to connect to any data source, clean and enrich streams in real-time, and deliver data directly to Pinecone. The partnership's goal is to enable developers to build and scale GenAI applications efficiently and cost-effectively, supported by a 99.99% uptime SLA from Confluent and expertise from leading Kafka and Flink experts.
