Pinecone has developed an automated pipeline system to optimize the process of sizing deployments by emulating real customer workloads on synthetic data, replacing the previous manual, time-consuming method of engineers running load scripts on EC2 instances. The new system takes a workload specification from the customer, automatically builds a corresponding index, and tests it across a variety of configurations to provide precise sizing recommendations.
