PagerDuty introduces a new Suppression capability designed to streamline IT system monitoring by centralizing operations data and reducing alert fatigue. By integrating with over 175 ITOps, DevOps, and ChatOps tools, the platform aims to provide a single source of truth for operations teams, allowing them to focus on actionable alerts while retaining low-priority notifications for post-event analysis and pattern recognition. Suppression is facilitated through Event Rules, which enable users to dynamically parse incoming event content and decide on incident creation, optimizing the use of the new PagerDuty Common Event Format across API integrations. This feature enhances the ability to manage complex event streams, recognize potential issues early, and improve overall operational performance. Available to Standard and Enterprise customers, Suppression is supported by PagerDuty's updated alert and incident data model, offering an improved infrastructure for visualizing and analyzing suppressed alerts through the new Infrastructure Health Application.
