A Reflection of Mes de la Historia Hispana! Hispanic Heritage Month 2020!
Blog post from PagerDuty
PagerDuty celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month by organizing a series of virtual events under the theme "Ama a Tu Vecino" (Love Your Neighbor), aimed at honoring Latinx culture and history while fostering community among its employees worldwide. The activities were curated by Array, the company's Employee Resource Group for Black and Latinx employees, and included culinary demonstrations, language discussions, storytelling panels, and an exploration of Latinx art and music. Highlights included cooking sessions, candid conversations about language's role in identity, a panel discussion on the complexity of Latinx identity, and an art walk featuring the works of Mexican painter José Clemente Orozco. The festivities culminated in a Bachata dance class and a fundraiser for The San Francisco Women's Building. Throughout the month, PagerDuty also highlighted Latinx contributions via social media and a collaborative Spotify playlist, reinforcing its commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural appreciation within the company.
