Blog post from Ory
In 2023, BoxyHQ's SAML Jackson project, now rebranded as Ory Polis, underwent significant advancements that reshaped the landscape of Single Sign-On (SSO) and Directory Sync technologies. The year was marked by the introduction of enterprise features like SAML Federation and improvements in user experience, security, and privacy controls, including the DO_NOT_TRACK and BOXYHQ_NO_ANALYTICS options. Key developments included the integration of RFC9207 support for OIDC connections, the addition of the SAML Tracer for debugging, and the launch of a Software as a Service (SaaS) option. Throughout the year, multiple updates were released to enhance the functionality and usability of the platform, such as support for multiple Directory Sync connections, improved UI/UX for SAML setup, and batching of Directory Sync events. As the project moved into early 2024, new features like configurable Setup Link expiry times and product branding were introduced. The ongoing evolution of Ory Polis reflects the collaborative spirit of the open-source community, aiming to provide robust, scalable, and user-friendly solutions for identity management.
