Introducing the Infrahub Marketplace

Infrahub Marketplace is a public catalog of reviewed, versioned YAML schemas and compatible schema collections that help users explore, adopt, and extend infrastructure data models for domains such as devices, addressing, BGP, QoS, and security management. Users can preview schemas in a browser, copy, download, or load them through the Infrahub SDK, including dependencies, then adapt them through standard branch-and-merge workflows; the catalog also supports AI-assisted schema design by providing proven reference models. OpsMill built the Marketplace as an AI-driven development experiment, using specification-led planning, a set of governing principles emphasizing simplicity, contracts, testing, catalog integrity, and accessibility, plus separate structured workflows for features and bugs. Although AI produced a functional application rapidly, a human UX/UI designer was needed to improve navigation, hierarchy, and installation guidance, illustrating the importance of design judgment. Automated quality controls—including linters, unit and end-to-end tests, and scheduled validation of every collection against a real Infrahub instance—ensure catalog entries remain installable, while an initial trial at AutoCon 5 indicated that users value seeing practical peer models and starting with validated schemas rather than blank files.
