ElevenLabs is now on OpenRouter
Blog post from OpenRouter
ElevenLabs audio capabilities are now available through OpenRouter, adding nine text-to-speech models and two speech-to-text models that can be accessed with an OpenRouter API key rather than a separate ElevenLabs plan. The launch supports expressive narration with Eleven v4, low-latency voice-agent responses through v4 Turbo, high-volume multilingual synthesis with Flash, and transcription with speaker labels, timestamps, audio-event tags, and medical terminology support through Scribe v2 models. A limited promotion offers all ElevenLabs models at half of OpenRouter’s listed price through October 19, while standard billing is based on input characters for speech generation and audio seconds for transcription. The walkthrough demonstrates creating MP3 narration with delivery tags, building a voice agent that combines transcription, a chat model, and synthesized replies, and converting meeting recordings into diarized notes. Guidance also covers selecting premade or custom BYOK voices, handling script character limits and long recordings, specifying MP3 output instead of raw PCM, configuring ElevenLabs-specific options, and using public audio URLs when uploads exceed the 25 MB limit.
