Software development from my Android phone at datacenter speeds

An 18-year-old student from Dhaka with a broken laptop was able to continue developing software on an Android phone seamlessly using Gitpod. The cloud-based dev environment allowed the student, known as AXON in the Gitpod Community, to turn their Android phone into a powerful development machine. They used Gitpod to develop Optimus Discord Bot, which now powers the Gitpod Community Discord server. With Gitpod, software development is easier and more productive than with a local development environment. The student's experience using Gitpod on an Android phone led them to become a Community Engineer intern at Gitpod. They have since contributed to various projects and helped others in the community.
