OpenClaw is a personal AI assistant designed to integrate with various messaging platforms such as WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack, Discord, and iMessage, allowing users to interact with AI coding agents while maintaining privacy by running locally on their devices. It serves as a centralized gateway, connecting users to local or cloud-based AI models via the Ollama platform. Users can install OpenClaw on their devices using simple commands and configure it as needed. The tool supports a range of models optimized for coding and general-purpose tasks, requiring a context length of at least 64k tokens for effective use. Ollama provides access to these models, many of which are available for free, enhancing OpenClaw's versatility in handling diverse tasks. Formerly known as Clawdbot and Moltbot, OpenClaw still recognizes the clawdbot command as an alias, ensuring continuity for existing users.
