Reprioritizing the task queue

The Octopus task queue operates on a first in, first out basis, handling various tasks such as deployments, runbooks, and system tasks at the instance level, where each task must be completed before the next begins. Addressing user feedback, a new feature has been introduced to allow the reprioritization of critical tasks, like hotfixes or production deployments, over less important ones directly from the Tasks overview dashboard or the Tasks page for specific releases. This reprioritization is achieved by selecting the desired task and moving it to the top of the queue without disrupting tasks already in progress. This feature, available from version 2023.4.6612 for Octopus Cloud or Server customers, enhances flexibility in managing task queues, enabling critical tasks to be prioritized more effectively.
