Deleting Releases via the Command Line
Blog post from Octopus Deploy
Paul Stovell, founder and CEO of Octopus, discusses an upcoming feature to set a retention policy for projects within the Octopus UI, which will automatically clean up old deployed applications and releases. Although this feature is not yet available, users can delete releases and deployments manually using Octo.exe with an Octopus server version 1.0.31 or higher. The command allows specification of version ranges using SemVer rules, which can be helpful in scenarios where numerous releases are mistakenly created due to issues like circular dependencies in build scripts. Stovell, who co-founded Octopus with his wife Sonia in 2012, also enjoys carpentry and DIY projects in his free time.
