Nhost has introduced Dedicated Compute, a new feature designed to help users scale their applications by providing greater control over compute resources like CPU and RAM for each service. This feature allows users to allocate up to 15 vCPUs and 30GiB of RAM per service, enhancing performance and user experience as app demands grow. Accessible via the Nhost Dashboard, Dedicated Compute offers a simple method for purchasing and distributing compute capacity, with a pricing model that starts at $25 for the Pro plan, plus $50 for each additional vCPU/2GiB of RAM. It ensures seamless scaling, granular control, and cost efficiency by allowing users to adjust resources according to specific service requirements, thus avoiding over-provisioning and reducing costs. Future enhancements include support for multiple service replicas and improved metrics for compute utilization, along with integration into GitHub workflows, aimed at further optimizing app performance and scaling opportunities.
