My name is Run, Nhost Run
Blog post from Nhost
Nhost has introduced Nhost Run in a private beta, aiming to make it the first truly extensible Backend-as-a-Service platform by allowing custom and third-party open-source services to run alongside the existing Nhost stack, which includes PostgreSQL, Hasura, Auth, and Storage. This feature enables users to create customized backend infrastructures using their preferred programming languages, thus enhancing the flexibility and adaptability of backend operations. Nhost Run facilitates the integration of services that previously may have been hosted externally on platforms such as Render or Heroku. Users can configure Run Services through the Nhost Dashboard or a configuration file, and the platform promises minimal latency, no egress costs, and improved reliability by keeping services in close proximity. While the current limitations include restrictions on exposing tcp and udp ports to the internet and the lack of support for building images, future updates will address these issues and expand language support. Nhost Run is available on the Pro plan and is part of Nhost's strategy to combine turnkey solutions with the flexibility found in other platforms, ensuring scalability as applications grow.
